FAQs:

Q: What's the approximate wifi pick-up range? What's the max sd card size supported?
A: Hello! Wyze Cam v3 supports 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB Class-10 microSD cards in FAT32 format. The camera will recognize larger cards (64GB+) that use exFAT, but these cards are less stable and are more likely to experience issues in the long run. While there are ways to force larger cards onto the FAT32 format, they are less likely to be recognized by the camera and may corrupt your data. For disclaimer, as a general rule of thumb, a 2.4ghz signal will have about a 150-foot range indoors. However, we still need to consider the quality/capability of the router you are using and other environmental factors such as walls or signal interference from other electronic devices.

Q: Does it need a hub to operate?
A: Hello there! Thanks for your question. The Wired Outdoor Wi-Fi Floodlight is a wired camera that connects directly to your WiFi network, just like the v2 and Pan. You do not need a base station (hub) to use it.

Q: Hello Wyze, How many hours of video does the Class 10 32GB microSD card in FAT32 format hold? Can select portions of the video be uploaded to PC via the cell phone? Does the video recording overwrite the beginning when it reaches capacity?
A: Hi there! When a microSD card is inserted into the camera, you can select between “Continuous recording” vs “Record events only” in the Advanced Settings of the camera. When “Continuous recording” is selected, the camera will continuously record video to the microSD card. When the card is full, the oldest footage will be overwritten. When “Record events only” is selected, the camera will only record video when motion or is detected. It will continue to record until motion ceases. The camera breaks the video into 1-minute increments. Note that microSD recordings are independent of the 12-second alert videos that are captured and stored on the cloud for 14 days based on the camera’s motion detection settings. You will continue to receive alert videos stored on the cloud as long as motion detection is turned on.

Q: Does this have a battery backup in case power goes out?
A: Hello there! The Wyze Floodlight Cam does not have a battery and it must be hard-wired either in place of an older floodlight or using a junction box. It does not have an internal battery and cannot be recharged or power backup in case of a power shortage.

Q: Can you turn the light off and on by wifi?
A: Hello there! Thanks for your question. Yes, you can manually turn the lights on or off via the floodlight icon on the camera’s Live screen, or go to the camera’s settings where they're listed as an Accessory.

Q: How do I install a SD chip?
A: Hello there! Thanks for your question. To install a microSD card unplug your Wyze Cam to prevent corruption of any recordings present on the card. Then insert a microSD card in the slot in the base of the camera. There is an outline of a microSD card imprinted next to the slot to show you which way it should be inserted.

Q: Is each spotlight 2600 Lumen or are they 1300 each? I would like to get a sense of who bright these would be as compared to my 75 watt equivalent LED bulbs I currently use.
A: Hi there. The brightness of the Wyze Cam Floodlight is 2600 Lumens.

Q: Does the camera in this light support RTSP for recording video to something like BlueIris?
A: Hi there. In order for the camera to support RTSP, you need to become a Beta tester first. Once you are a Beta Tester, you can install RTSP Firmware on your camera.

Q: It says the camera's field of view is 130°. Can the FOV be adjusted enough to one side that with an additional Wyze Cam V3 that at least 180° of combined coverage can be obtained?
A: Hello there! Wyze Cam Floodlight includes a Wyze Cam v3. It also has an additional USB port that can connect to an additional Wyze Cam v3 to provide up to 270º of visual coverage.

Q: Does this not operate as motion detector for the lights or just on the camera .
A: Hello there, the lights can be triggered by PIR. You may turn on and off it individually and adjust the range and sensitivity up to 30 feet.

Q: What's the biggest gig this camera will take?
A: Hi there! Wyze Cam supports Class 10 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB microSD cards in FAT32 format.

Q: Does the "dusk-to-dawn" feature keep the security lights on all-night in "half-bright" power-saving mode? Is the dimming level user adjustable?
A: Hi there. You can adjust the brightness of the Wyze Wired Outdoor Wi-Fi Floodlight from the app. And if you want to turn on the lights all night in half-bright, you can set a schedule and rules.

Q: It looks like it's side wall mount only?
A: Hi there. Wyze Cam Floodlight can be mounted on a ceiling / overhang or wall mount, as long as you have a junction box and a neutral wire.

Q: Can you adjust the camera angle?
A: Hello there, yes, you can adjust the camera angle. You can also use the extra USB port so you can add another camera for more coverage.

Q: Does this come with an SD card? if not, what's the max size acceptable?
A: Hello there, MicroSD card is not included and it is sold separately. Wyze Cam supports 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB Class-10 microSD cards in FAT32 format. The camera will recognize larger cards (64GB+) that use exFAT, but these cards are less stable and are more likely to experience issues in the long run. While there are ways to force larger cards onto the FAT32 format, they are less likely to be recognized by the camera and may corrupt your data.

Q: What about the weather? Which temps are the max and min?
A: Hi there. Wyze Cam Floodlight is weatherproof. It is both IP65 weather resistant and UL Listed for Wet Locations. This means it'll keep doing it's job in sunshine, snow, or a total downpour.

Q: CAN I USE MY LAPTOP TO SET UP AND ACCESS WYZE??
A: Hi there. These cameras currently only work with the Wyze app on a mobile device or tablet. It does not have a web interface or work on a computer/PC.

Q: will this work with 220v eg. if I took it to the UK?
A: Hello there! This device only works with 110V~120V.

Q: My outlet box is horizontal, not vertical, under the roof soffit. Will the lights and camera swivel and work in this position?
A: Hello there, you can mount the floodlight on a ceiling/overhang or wall mount, as long as you have a junction box and a neutral wire.

Q: Does the light stay on continuously while there?s motion or will it turn off and back on?
A: Hello there! The light will stay on when there is a motion detected and automatically turns off.

Q: I know there are LEDs but can I be replaced by off-the-shelf LEDs?
A: Hi there, regards the Wyze Floodlight's bulbs, they are not replaceable but will last for about 50,000 hours, with normal use.

Q: Does it use WiFi to send the video and is it stored online or is video stored on a SD card?
A: Hi there! It will require a 2.4GHz WiFi network signal in order to setup and communicate with the Wyze app. The cameras are primarily meant to work with an internet connection. The connection is what allows you to stream, get notifications and change settings via the Wyze App. However, you can use a WiFi network connection to set up and configure your Wyze Cam in the Wyze app. Once the camera is configured with a microSD card inserted and Local recording to microSD card turned on, the camera will continue to continuously record to the microSD card, even when it is offline. When your Wyze Cam is offline, you will not be able to connect to the camera via the Wyze app to view the live stream video or change any of the camera settings. The camera also will not save any alert videos to the cloud, so none of the motion or sound detection features will work. To view your recorded footage, you can either bring your Wyze Cam back to an area that is covered by the WiFi network it was set up in and use the Playback feature in the Wyze app, or remove the microSD card from your Wyze Cam to view the raw video files (mp4 format) on a computer. When you return the microSD card to your Wyze Cam, it will resume continuous recording. The camera supports up to a 32GB microSD card, which holds roughly 2-3 days of playback recording. As it maxes out in space, it will overwrite the footage of the oldest day on file. So while the camera can do offline recording, it is not its optimal purpose.

Q: I know it's 110v but how many amps and what voltage does the device actually draw from the circuit at max? Since I'll be running a new line for this I'd like to avoid using a heavier than needed wire gauge. Romax is rather expensive at the moment.
A: Hello there! They use 5V 1A DC of power through a micro USB port. The included adapter is rated for 100-240V input, so you can use it with any power source within this range.

Q: can i set the camera to turn on light and siren automatically when sensor is triggered?
A: Hello there! Yes, you can turn on the light and siren automatically when a sensor is triggered.

Q: Does this include the camera?
A: Hi there. Wyze Cam Floodlight includes a Wyze Cam v3. It also has an additional USB port that can connect to an additional Wyze Cam v3 to provide up to 270º of visual coverage.

Q: Hi, I would like to hang this device from my garage overhang. Can it be hung like that?
A: Hi there. Yes, you can mount the floodlight on a ceiling / overhang or wall mount on your garage, as long as you have a junction box and a neutral wire.

Q: is camera good foe a 220volt power
A: Hello there! Thanks for your question. No, it won't work for 220V, it only works with 110V-120V.

Q: Is the Wyze system 5G WiFi compatible?
A: Hello there! Wyze Devices need to be connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network with a WPA/WPA2 protocol. Wyze Devices cannot be connected to a 5GHz network.

Q: Is this compatible with Alexa?
A: Hi there. Wyze Cam Floodlight is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT.

Q: What color temperature are the lights?
A: Hello there! The color temperature is warm and soft 2500k, perfect for providing just the right amount of light.

Q: What is the recommended height for installation?
A: Hello there, the recommended height for installation is 10 feet off the ground. The sensor should be parallel to the ground and will detect movement within a maximum of 30 feet.

Q: Does it come in black? If not why not?
A: Hello there! The Wyze Wyze Cam Floodlight is only available in white color.

Q: Are the bulbs replaceable? if so what type, how much are they, and in what store can they be found?
A: Hello there! The bulbs are not replaceable.

Q: Can i put this in place of my wired cam outside?
A: Hello there! Yes, you can place it anywhere outside your house. The Wyze Cam Floodlight accessory can be mounted on a ceiling, overhang, or wall mount, as long as you have a junction box.

Q: What are the power requirements? Does it have to be hard-wired? Is it battery operated?
A: Hello there! The Wyze Floodlight Cam is hard-wired (110V~120V) either in place of an older floodlight or using a junction box. Please contact a licensed electrician for help if you do not have a current floodlight or junction box.

Q: Light color rendered? Soft White? Harsh Bright White?
A: Hello there! The brightness of the Wyze Cam Floodlight is 2600 Lumens ultra-bright light.

Q: Can I attach this to an exterior detached garage 30-40 feet away from my modem/router that is inside my house? Does the camera have enough signal strength to connect at that range?
A: Hello there! The max range between the camera and router varies, but in an open, clear field, they can be up to 300 feet apart. If you have multiple walls, doors, and other structures between each device, then that optimal range will be smaller.

Q: How is this powered, hardwired to 120v or micro-USB like other Wyze products?
A: Hello there! The Wyze Floodlight Cam is hard-wired (110V~120V) either in place of an older floodlight or using a junction box. Please contact a licensed electrician for help if you do not have a current floodlight or junction box.

Q: I wish to replace existing soffit mounted lights. Your product seems to be limited to wall mounting. Can your product be adjusted to serve as a soffit-mounted device?
A: Hello there! Thanks for your question. The Wyze Wired Outdoor Floodlight can't be used as a stand-alone light, you must have a Wyze Cam v3 installed. Wyze Cam Floodlight comes with a pre-installed Wyze Cam v3, which controls the floodlight. You cannot use the floodlight without a Wyze Cam v3.

Q: what camera is it a 3v
A: Hello there! Yes, it works with the Wyze Cam V3. The main Wyze Cam v3 that comes pre-installed in the Wyze Cam Floodlight controls the floodlight and its settings. This includes turning it on or off manually or using automatic features like motion detection or Rules.

Q: Are the bulbs replaceable? If so what is the replacement bulb?
A: Hello there! The bulbs are not replaceable. We would recommend checking out the Wishlist (https://forums.wyzecam.com/c/wishlist/12) section of our forums. The Wishlist is where users may post and vote for feature requests they may like to see. Our product team goes through these regularly.
